The Vet update

Ginger feeling a little sorry for herself...
Ginger spent the night in the living room with me, and this morning we went to the Vet's together to get her leg checked out. $169 later, she is pumped full of painkiller and we've been handed antibiotics and some additional pain killer for her to take for a week.

Her wounds have swollen up, but the ones on the inside just look like grazes, whereas the one on her elbow bone does have the Vet a little concerned. Until Ginger lets her touch them properly, they won't be able to determine whether there is any lasting damage to ligaments, or if in fact there are fragmented bones inside.

She's supposed to have quiet times inside for the week. Currently inside sleeping on her bed. Larry is outside in the garden bed, enjoying the patchy sun and wind. I feel bad that he's going to not have much company for the week, especially as he's come from a foster family of 4 dogs. But we've got a playdate lined up with the neighbour's Kelpie this afternoon, presuming she doesn't forget.

So hopefully he'll hang in there and just enjoy the solitude for a while. We'll make a point of trying to give him some more one on one attention and longer walks as well. Thank goodness wolfieboy is home this week.
