Dinner Etiquette

If my puppies aren't sleeping, they're eating.

Case in point:

Elsie: Hey that's not fair. We don't ALWAYS chew..

That's true. Somtimes you just inhale.

I have to watch them with eagle eyes when I feed them sometimes - especially if there are bones in the bowl.

Elsie has a habit of taking up her bones/chicken wings/meat and eating them away from her bowl. She always picks them up daintily and goes elsewhere to eat. Effectively leaving her food bowl undefended.

If Fred has finished his bones (he tends eat right beside or in the bowl) he's been known to sometimes start eating from Elsie's bowl rather than his own.

I've caught Elsie do that too when Fred has moved the bone out of his bowl and is just standing there chewing on it.

Naughty puppies.

I guess the good thing is that they don't get aggro about their food or have dog/food fights. But it also means if I don't keep an eye on them someone ends up going hungry.

Fred: Yeah, Elsie's a pig. You gotta watch her mum. She always tries to take advantage of me!

Elsie: I'm sorry ok? I can't help it that your food always tastes nicer than mine!

Fred: Yeah, my food does taste pretty yummy, doesn't it?

Elsie: You got it buster!

Staring into Space with Lots of Giggles

Elsie: Hello there. Welcome to our blog!

Fred: Oh, hello there. Sorry, didn't see you.

What are you looking at way out in the distance over there anyway?

Fred: None of your business. It's a surprise.

Elsie: You know better than to ask him silly questions, mum.

Ok then, Elsie. What on earth are you doing here then???

Elsie: I was looking for food. Isn't it obvious?

Whoops, looks like Fred's come to investigate and Elsie's gonna have to share.

Elsie: That's what *he* thinks.

Elsie: I've got PLANS. And if you tell him, you are SO dead meat.

Ok, ok ok.
Elsie: Step One of Distract Fred is now complete!

Elsie: Just wait till he sees my latest handiwork.. He's not going to know what to do with the neon grass. It'll keep him busy for DAYS, while I go back to investigating new food options!

Elsie: I'm a GENIUS!

The Staring Contest

The puppies decided to have a staring competition today.

Here is Fred giving his gimlet eye

Else returns with a wonderful look, complete with ears cocked.

Oh, oh, oh, but not daunted Fred turns his stare into a Blue Steel!!

And the crowd goes wild!!!

Ah, but says Elspeth. Can you do this?

Fred: Hrmpff you changed positions Els. I can show you a profile shot. Will that do?

Elsie: This is a staring contest, NOT a profile contest.

Elsie: *mutters*

Elsie: I can't work with these people..

Elsie: What was that? You think I can't do a winning profile shot?

Elsie: Shows how much you know.

Elsie: Take that! And that!!!

And the crowd goes wild!!!

Looking to the Left

I know that dogs can be creatures of habit, but seriously...

Just  going through this batch of pictures I've realised all them have the puppies looking stage left.

Don't believe me?

What about you Fred?

*sigh* it's nice to be so trusted by you two.

Fine, look at these then.

See? Nothing to say now, is there?

Looking left isn't going to help you win that argument, Fred.

In which Elsie tries to solicit some contraband

Elsie: Slurrrrrp. You look tasty.

Elsie: Oh! What was that?

Elsie: Hrrmm.. false alarm. So yeah.. back to you. Were you thinking of offering me some treats?

No? Why not? I'm a really, really, *really* good girl...

Oh fine. Don't give me treats then. I'll just go back to Fred. Least he likes me..

Elsie: Hey Fred, I'm starving here. You got any snacks on ya? A bone or some such?

Fred: Maybe. What's in it for me?

Elsie: You'll get first dibs on cuddles tonight if you let me at that bone you're sitting on.

Fred: Oh ok then. That's a fair trade.

Elsie: Great! Oh crap she's just spotted us. Quick! Pretend you don't have anything so that mum won't suspect anything.

Fred: I don't think it's going to work.

Elsie: Sure it will.

Fred: Ok then.

Elsie:  There's nothing going on here. Go about your way.

Sleeping Puppies in Compromised Positions

I walked into the living room one afternoon and saw this.

I love the looks on their faces.

Elsie: "Yes? Is there something you would like?"

Fred: "OMG this is so embarassing. I can't believe she caught us out, Els"

Elsie: Like it really matters, sheeesh...

Fred: Umm.. I think you gotta see this Elsie..

Elsie: Oh, what is it now? I'm trying to sleep!

Fred: Elsie! She's got the camera out!

...

*snap* goes the camera shutter

Head down, bum up eyeing her prey.

Elsie: "mmMMmm you look taaaasteee.."

Elsie my Stalkery Puppy

Elsie: If I can't see you, you can't see me either!

Whoops! Looks like Fred just flushed her out!
