Dull days indoors

It's been rainy for a few weeks on end at our place.
During the weekends, dull grey rainy days means the puppies get to spend the whole day indoors.

Elsie loves it when she gets to stay inside and on most rainy days she does not deign to leave the verandah.
She's a princess, remember and it does not behoove her status to muddy her paws or bottom on mucky grass or wet dirt.

Having said that, being indoors can be pretty glum too..

Elsie: Is it sunny yet???

Fred: I dunno, but I'm borred....

Elsie the Watch Dog

Elsie: As part of the pack, I take it upon myself to guard my family.

Elsie: This means that I take it upon myself to be Watchdog of the House

Fred: And what a fine job you do, Elsie

Elsie: I detect a twinge of sarcasm in your tone Fred but I'm going to ignore that too. Guarding the house and our Boss' is very important you know.

Elsie: I'd stay and chat more but I think I spy something. Excuse me.

looking for treats

Elsie: Hi Dad, Is that a treat you've got for me?

Fred: Don't be silly Elsie. You know that the best treats are the ones out here.

Elsie: You're making fun of me, but I'm going to ignore it.

Sniffies

Fred: I smell something in the air.

Elsie: What's that? I smell something too!

Fred: Ah, I think it might've just been my imagination.

Elsie: no no no, I think you're onto something Fred!

Hang on a sec, what's this??

Elsie: *sniiiiiiiifffffssss*

Fred: Elsie, why are you sniffing that piece of grass? Weren't you sposed to be finding the source of the smell which could potentially mean food? Grass isn't food...

Elsie: Oh yeah, sorry. Got a bit distracted.

a girl and her bokashi bin

I caught the girl sniffing the bin. Caught her in the act and she jumped a mile.
After she was thoroughly scolded I went about my way. When I happened to turn around, this is what I saw.

Elsie: It's my bokashi bin. You can't give me no orders. I'm my own girl!

In which Harry Makes A Move

Once upon a time there was a dog named Elsie

She was a friendly and sweet girl.

Every few months or so she would go and visit her little Jack Russell friend, Harry.

Harry liked Elsie very much.

And always made a point of telling Elsie every chance he got.

Unfortunately for Harry, Elsie was not 100% convinced.

Still, Harry stuck to his guns, and eventually he managed to talk her around

And soon they were the best of friends

Fred however was not 100% convinced

But seeing as Elsie didn't seem to mind Harry all that much, decided he'd hold his judgement.

He figured if Elsie ever got sick of Harry or Harry took things too far he could step in and sort Harry out.

a bit of rough and tumble

Elsie: Oh.... I'm onto you. You look waaaay to chipper to just want a chat.

Fred: You betcha, girly...

Elsie: Whoa, whoa... Time out!

Fred: Ok, fair enough. I'll just take a breather

Fred: Ok, you rested yet?

Harry: Yeah, I wanna play too!

Elsie: Raaaarrrr! Yeah I'll Play! Raaarrr!!!

Harry: Actually, maybe I'll just referee!!

Harry: Ooo that's a clever move, Fred. Going for the leg like that!

Elsie: Hey wait a second. I thought Harry was just refereeing. How did I get rolled again?
